Is violating copyright law ever morally permissible?

Topic Suggestion/Request:

Is violating copyright law ever morally permissible?

For example:

  1. Cracking a piece of software one has paid for, but the company which published it is now defunct and the licence servers are shut down, rending the software otherwise unusable.
  2. Distributing aforementioned software. A common argument in favor of this is that if the publisher/developer is no longer in business or is not selling that software, then they are not incurring losses from distribution.
  3. Scanning a particular Bible translation that currently has no extant Bible app module and building one so that:
    A. I can read it on my phone instead of having to carry a book around.
    B. Distribute said module to friends.
