In the 10th chapter of John, Jesus says that the good Shepherd gives His life for the sheep (10:11) and to the unbelievers Jesus says that they are not from His sheep (10:26). How do Lutherans understand those passages where Christ mentions that He gives His life specifically for the sheep or for the church, of which not all are part of?
