Colossians 3:5-8 ESV
Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. [6] On account of these the wrath of God is coming. [7] In these you too once walked, when you were living in them. [8] But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.
The only example I recall of Jesus putting something to death in the gospels is when Jesus cursed the fruitless tree.
Mark 11:14 ESV
And he said to it, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard it.
May we curse what is earthly within us likewise by praying
“Our Father who art in Heaven, let no one ever eat fruit from what is earthly in us again, in Jesus name amen” , as well as believing and not doubting?
This is not to say we are without sin, because we are still flesh and not perfect in timing temperance.
