I was hoping that you could speak about Luther’s “On the Jews and their lies” Unrelated to recent events I started reading this from LW vol. 47. I was speaking with a someone about this and he said that he had read it also but after speaking further I found out that we read different visions (his version was only about 40 pages where as the one in LW is about 170). I have heard that this is some disagreement on this text from Luther, accusations raging from that Luther didn’t really write this document to Luther attacking the prophets, Jeremiah in particular if I recall correctly . I am about 3/4 way though it myself and I have not found anything that would indict that that this did not come Luther. I could see Luther being taken out of context given he liberal use of sarcasm. Personally I have found the text underwhelming given the reputation it has.
