Hello Corey, I’m 25 year old man from St. Louis Missouri. I recently lost my dog and one of my guinea pigs. My mother was told in church long ago when she was a child that animals don’t go to heaven and that has affected her. She is Christian but I believe others have been told this and are wounded spiritually. I want to know the church’s teaching on heaven and the final resurrection. Will everything that was ever alive be restored to life and humans are judged? Does Christ’s triumph over death mean that death is destroyed utterly in the second coming and its consequences are undone? Does “Behold, I am making everything new!” (Rev 21:5) apply to everything that has ever existed? I have read Paul’s writings on the Resurrection in first Corinthians 15:44 “it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.” and it would comfort me and millions of believers to know that we would see our animals again.
